Great man! You are so fucking right!!!!!!! Dick Butkus of "old" would still have been Dick Butkus by today's standards. Just a BIGGER and FASTER and just as SCARY Dick Butkus. @hitek9wittafulclip - If you lack the capacity to compare the NFL from era to era, then you shouldnt be engaged in this conversation. Butkus had something that most of the spoiled cry-babies in the NFL don't have anymore. HEART. And guts to spare. And a bit of insanity. With today's advanced nutrition/training/sports medicine, he wouldve been every bit the bad-ass he was back then. Take away an NFL players millions today, they wouldnt even want to play.

To all of those cynics who say Butkus wouldn't have been that successful in today's game, I say to you all... BULLSHIT! With today's nutrition and advanced training, he would have been even better than in those old days. And most certainly able to compete with today's athletes, who while they seem a step or two faster and a bit stronger, still seem to lack the skills (everybody and their mother is dropping passes) dedication and hunger to be the best they can be.
