I wish my piano had such a light touch. Bravo, Bilson!

It may well be an Anton Walter copy by an expert maker of our times.
-
Does anyone happen to know the maker of this fine historic piano? Looks to be very early 19th century. Beethoven era. Beautiful even sound. Love it! Can not acchieve this level of purity in a modern piano.

BRAVO!
He is not restrained and I love it.

2:26 That's a long note.
Bilson is one of my favorite keyboardists, period. He's so soulful. What is it with these nerdy HP geniuses being all awesome?

Well, Bilson is one of the first (and in many respects one of the best and most learned) modern fortepianists. I have quite a few of his marvellous CDs and I did not expect anything less than these masterly renderings from one of the best modern specialists in Classical piano music.

Agreed!
I find my self replaying this video over and over again, Haydn is my favorite composer and Mr. Bilson really brings out the best of this catchy Fantasia.

How wonderfully he plays this. It's jaunty, and the sound is far more dramatic than what would have produced by a concert grand. Bilson convincingly makes an argument for concert performances on period instruments.
