Ronco da Cuica is a song by João Bosco (1976).
The basic message is that the "cuica" was playing anger and starvation and it was ordered to stop by those in power.
It carries a subliminal message about the oppression and against the existing dictatorship at that time.
In the end the boys do a fine job mimicking the sound of the "cuíca".
The Japanese are one of the greatest contributions to the ethnic fabric of Brazil.
And Art is art, there are no limits about you can do.

Yes,you are right about everything.
Almost all brazilian musical production in 70's has an critical/political vein

Why does the title mention a cuica? I can't see or hear any cuica being played.

"o ronco da cuica" is the original title of this tune, composer joão bosco, and the mention of the cuica was in lyrics

Well I don't speak that Brazilian stuff so I wouldn't know about that. Not like I'd ever go to such a place.
Anyway, I thought you guys looked Korean, not Brazilian, which was half the reason why I stuck around.
And to sing about a cuica instead of playing one makes no sense. It is like putting away your guitar and singing about guitars without playing one.
It is like going to restaurant just to find that all they have is a lousy photo of food but no real food! What a disappointment!
