they forgot to mention all the p***y that fell in the seat while you were driving by.

The Eldorado cost more than the 1958 Rolls Royce and this hand-built Cadillac was a far better car.

the price of the car was acutally $13,074.00 this was the second most expensive car in the world at that time ($120,000.00 in 2010) the Rolls Royce silver cloud was number one at $13,500.00 and the Lincoln Mark was number three at $10,000.00 the brougham was hand built i heard rumors that in Canada the price was as high as $19,000.00

wow, what style and elegance. this was when cadillac was at the top of its game. cadillac today is getting there but its not there yet. I know that cadillac will be unveiling a new flagship car soon (not the xts) and It needs to capture the essence of what it meant to own a cadillac back then.

This caddie was really a fine automobile. I had a chance to drive one and it was just a dream. The quality was amazing. It had everything. Air, automatic headlamp dimmers, power everything. The one I drove even had a small record player. This was one heck of a car. I have also been in the Continental Mark II and personally I liked the Caddie more. Something about the way it looked and felt. I mean both cars were amazing, but I just fell in love with the Caddie.

I can afford yesterdays car today! only $12,000! :D
-
And here i thought only the Lincoln Continental was the only production car with suicide style doors. What a cool car.

Where can I get one? They don't make 'em anymore? NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!! -
@mrpitv Essentially, America still does rule the world. The only superpower, and the one country that when it stumbles economically, the whole world is affected.

GM lost gobs of $ on each....as Lincoln did on the hand-built Mark II.
But these were great show-off halo cars as to what Cadillac could do.
And once again they are the Standard of the World with their latest cars.
Nice car. Even though it was a very limited production number, it still looks like a Cadillac. However, it appears to be kitsch of the highest form when you compare it to the beautiful-and restrained 56 and 57 Continental Mk.lls

@loufalce Subtlety was not its strong suit. The Lincoln was elegant and refined and the Cadillac was -- well, a Cadillac. But, it does have a certain presence and it exudes a sense of unashamed confidence that I think captures that moment in time when America was feeling like it ruled the world.
