Learn how to plant a garden of echinacea or coneflower plants from Garden Club Select with help from Lowe's experts.

Step 1 - Create the Raised Bed
Create a circular mound with a raised center that tapers to the edge. Use a mix of soil or planting medium to create the mound for your garden.

Step 2 - Select the Plants
You can use a combination of several different colors of echinacea. The example garden uses hot papaya, hot summer, tomato soup, tiki torch, and pink double delight.

Step 3 - Arrange the Plants
Set the plants where you would like to plant them, moving them around the garden until you are happy. Check the plant tags for proper spacing of the coneflowers.

Step 4 - Planting
Dig the hole two times the wide of the pot, lightly fertilize, set the top of the root bowl even with the ground level. Then backfill to ground level and tamp the soil. Water, then mulch. Repeat this process with each echinacea plant in your garden.
