  • Simon, are you using the clay that we got from Trent? It looks like it is. I was making some of the double bowls the other day. The first bowl came out OK, I set the gauge and I had a hard time making the second one match. The bottom of the bowl would blow out or pulling up it would get off center. So I've come to the conclusion that I have to KKKEEEEEEEPPPP PRACTICING.... How was your trip to Peters pottery a few weeks ago???

  • @TheSignGuy32 yes indeed I am ! Trip to Peters Valley went well thanks, even though a beaver dam had burst 2 days before just above the place !

  • Hey Simon have you ever had the rim of a bowl explode in the firing because of rolling them?

  • @cnfinnegan45 no never have !

  • hey simon!

'nuther' good video...and i enjoyed your reparteé with the gauge...; ^)

    i'm practising today!

    cheers,

    richard

  • @cnfinnegan45 if ur rim explodes its because you trapped air inside. make sure you roll correctly. i would tell you if i could but its more of a showing kind of thing sorry :( i tried to think of a way to explain it but im at a lack for words

  • Much better camera angle - close up, can see your hands. please use this angle more often. thanks.

  • @tatteredgrey

    hi

    thanks for answering

i come from bethlehem palestine, i'm not sure about the clay we have now but it's coming from spain and germany, if i checked which company can you suggest a code of a good clay?

    thanks again

  • @rulahannasal the quality of the clay and what your looking for really depends on where you live and how much you want to pay. for a lower cost clay many clay distributor formulate their own for a cheaper price. some times just as good as big name manufacturers. for the more well known companies such as Standard. IMCO, Highwater, and Laguna. you may have to pay more because of cost of shipping especially if you dont have a local supplier whom could place and order for you or have some in stock.
