DOMINIONISM describes, in several distinct ways, a tendency among some conservative politically-active Christians, especially in the United States of America, to seek influence or control over secular civil government through political action - aiming either at a nation governed by Christians, or a nation governed by a conservative Christian understanding of biblical law. The use and application of this terminology is a matter of controversy.

CHRISTIAN RECONSTRUCTIONSIM is a religious and theological movement within Protestant Christianity that calls for Christians to put their faith into action in all areas of life. The beliefs characteristic of Christian Reconstructionism include:

1. Calvinism, for its description individual spiritual regeneration by the Holy Spirit that is required to change people on a personal level before any positive cultural changes can occur,
2. Theonomy applying the general principles of Old Testament and New Testament Law to the corresponding family, church and civil governments (compare with theocracy); opposed to church-state separation of any kind,
3. Postmillennialism, the Christian eschatological belief that God's kingdom began at the first coming of Jesus Christ, and will advance progressively throughout history until it fills the whole earth through conversion to the Christian faith and worldview,
4. The presuppositional apologetics of Cornelius Van Til
5. Decentralized political order resulting in minimal state power and laissez-faire economics.

What is The Atheist Experience?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas, geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

  • @dejesusluisx "I say it's God, because I believe in God, and that explanation is the only one available when you eliminate chance," nizkorDOTorg: A False Dilemma is a fallacy in which a person uses the following pattern of "reasoning": Either claim X is true or claim Y is true (when X and Y could both be false). Claim Y is false. Therefore claim X is true. For example: Either 1+1=4 or 1+1=12. It is not the case that 1+1=4. Therefore 1+1=12. Sorry, but your reasoning FAILS.
  • @tdjdk Go look at some of my rants about creationism. they lose so many rational arguments it's staggering. If you have a position of dishonesty, misinterpretation, strawman, and ignorance, you will never have an argument. Creationism is a fraud just like religion is.

  • @LoluskPoo Of course, not, is a cult. Thank you for correcting me...

  • @dejesusluisx dude, atheism isn't a religion idiot.

  • @texmurphy51 no, atheism is non belief, not belief there is not

  • @flatpat HAHAHA I had to sift through the flame war on here just to see if anyone noticed that too. I AGREE!!!

  • @Texmurphy51 Atheists don't claim to know there are no gods, we simply haven't seen any reason to believe there are any. I put gods on the same level as leprechauns and invisible garden faeries, and for the same reason: no evidence.

The U.S. Constitution is a secular document, not base on any religion. Many of the founders were, at most, deists. Their ideas came from the Enlightenment, not god-belief.

Of course actions can be considered "wrong" if there are no "absolutes."

  • @YY4Me133 sez"I don't know of a single person who claims to *know* what existed "before" the Big Bang"

Sure you do, all Theists & Atheists who Belief they KNOW there is a God or No God.

The "theory" does not describe conditions before the event, what happened is unknown.

Laws DO come from the human mind but because of Belief in Gods, not any Secular connection as you suggested.

Secular Laws have not absolutes so are all relative.

No action can be "wrong" with no absolutes

  • @Texmurphy51 All laws, even religious laws, are created by humans. Some may attribute their thinking/actions to some god or gods, but it all comes from human minds.

I don't know of a single person who claims to *know* what existed "before" the Big Bang, because time is thought to have started at that event. However, the Theory does explain what has been observed.

  • @YY4Me133 sez"To my knowledge, English common law was not based on any religion"

English law was based on previous laws.

Since Religion has been around since before recorded history, all written law is based on Religious morals.

The Beliefs came before written laws, not after.

Ancient people thought Gods caused all natural actions

"Faith is not required for belief"

Since there is no evidence of the conditions pre Big Bang , to say one KNOWS is a Faith

  • @Texmurphy51 To my knowledge, English common law was not based on any religion. Saying that "All our moral laws come from Religions" implies that humans didn't create religious rules/laws, but they did. So, all laws come from humans. Religions simply take credit for them.

I don't argue about how the universe did NOT come to be. I reject baseless claims about how it did.

Faith is not required for belief. Belief can be based on evidence, e.g. I believe Earth orbits our sun.
