Birmingham favourites, The Twang, played an intimate gig on 29th May 2009 as the closing performance in the Gaymers Grassroots Gigs 2009 series, a set of exclusive money cant buy gigs that bring fans up close and personal with some of the most exciting bands on the British music scene.
For the second year running, Gaymers Grassroots Gigs saw six bands head back to their hometowns to perform an intimate one-off set in a local venue close to their heart.
The Twang entertained a packed out crowd of 150 lucky competitions winners at The Victoria in Birmingham, with lead singer Phil Etheridge saying how great it was to be back on home turf. Opening with Wide Awake, the band rocked the house with a performance that included tracks from their forthcoming album, Jewellery Quarter. They followed with Back Where We Started and Ice Cream Sundae before the crowd went wild for a final rendition of Cloudy Room.
