that was a WP thing unique to their railroad....like SP built light packages and added a locomotive to it!

So whats the story on the 6946? Just static right now or forever, or is it running? Sure we would all know if it was operational, but has me curious.

I am glad you got an GP7 & some DDA40X's This reminds me of the 1980's Have you ride any engine here at the western pacific (Portala)railroad museum I will may go someday to drive this engine & some others how much money you have to drive this engine

Not sure if the WP GP7 is available for their Rent-a-Locomotive program, but I was told $150 per hour for something equivalent, usually the Kodachrome GP9. I also posted a video of that unit.

6946 needs restoration, and does not run currently.
