Lt. Charles Santoro, a 32-year veteran of the Quincy Police Department, is affectionately known around the station as Rembrandt. Santoro, a Quincy native, has never taken formal art lessons, nor has he ever been paid for his work. Every so often he enters his paintings in competition. But for the most part, he takes to the canvas because it makes him feel good, particularly when he can share the result with others.
