Dude! Doom (1, 2, TnT, Plutônia and Ultimate Doom) and Quake are by far my fav FPS till today!
I loved playing the Doom mod for Doom 3 though. It's always nice to see a classic with new graphics owning all the new garbage laying around!
Anyway, I have the Steam version of Quake and I'd like to know how do I add all of those files I just downloaded from your links, including the music, which I agree is awesome!
Thank you for this heads up man!
Epic games for the awesomeness epicness! o/

I might do this level in the future without getting hits!

@ModernDoomer89 The gtx 550ti is an Nvidia GeForce card, my one is the overclocked edition by Asus. I used to be an ATi man but after a lot of research its appared to me that Nvidia have more to offer at a lower budget in the current market. Any how, yes, i agree about the effects being the biggest issue, its drops the fps a lot.

@DUBZzDave I'm unfamiliar with those cards (I use ATi) so I can't help you, sadly. I've found though that the biggest performance hit comes from the "Effects," I ended up setting them to Medium instead of high or "Full". The lighting wasn't as good, but 60 fps instead of 30. I don't know why but FRAPS slowed this video down from my average of 30 :S
QRP > Rygel's

@10samm10 Indeed that's why I use the QRP :)

@ModernDoomer89 Does Darkplaces still support POM?

@10samm10 POM? You're going to have to elaborate on what that is, I'm not a big tech guru; though if you use a more "spelt out" term maybe I'll know and can tell you.

@ModernDoomer89 Parallax offset mapping. Making textures pop out of the surface. Its similar to bump mapping but more organic.

@10samm10 Ahh. I do understand what Parallax Mapping is. Yes it does indeed support it, though I can't remember if it's the QRP or the Quake HD pack I joined with QRP that has it. The effect works great in Darkplaces though.
