Some people wear wigs to disguise the fact that they are bald. Actors, on the other hand often wear costume wigs in order to better portray the character they are playing.

@dancedimensons7 Some people prefer wigs because dyeing is actually one of the worst things you can do to your hair. It's very damaging to the weak hair folicles. Also, I know people who wear wigs that are pink, etc because they have to keep a natural hair color for working.

@dancedimensons7 if she in an actress or being fitted for something (a show etc.), she wouldn't have time to have her hair grown and dyed as human hair grows at about half an inch per month, and extensions are easily spottable. Besides a professionally fitted wig can be quite comfortable so i'm told, a bit like having a suit tailored but for your head.
