Miss Saigon
It is always for me a test of "John's" singing voice as to the ease in which they cope with Bui-Doi. Not only does Hugh cope, he handles the song with consummate ease, as he does with the rest of his involvement in the show. - One4Review.com
Gutsy singing by Hugh Maynard as Chris's friend John and a gospel chorus gives a real sense of sorrow - Caron Parsons, BBC Bristol
Hugh Maynard's voice in the powerful Act 2 opening number "Bui-Doi" can't help but get the hairs on the back of your neck up. - Chris Cox, Nowt2do.com
Two others to single out are Hugh Maynard and Robert Vicencio. Mr Maynard makes a triumphant return to the City of his birth, as Chris's close friend G1 John. He's particularly impressive when leading the gospel choir with gusto in the highly emotive "Bui-Doi" at the opening of Act 2 - the homage to all those unwanted children who are the unwitting victims of war. - BBC Birmingham
-3 this song!!!!! Totally can relate to their stories of tragedy and suffering!!!!! I am a Korean adoptee and I too feel like the dust of life.

i saw Hugh three times, and John Partridge once, John was amazing, but Hugh is the best, his voice is outstanding, especially when he hits the high note, he held it for what felt like 5 mins :)
