Your method is a lot less complicated than others, no need to download and we must take our time to do it ourselves so that we don't lose our songs entirely. By the way, how can we stop itunes from duplicating tracks? thanks.

I have so many drives, and so many computers now... I must have 45000 files, of which 20,000 AT LEAST are duplicative. I don't mind having duplicates, in essence, since I want a backup, but I don't even have my files consolidated... and if I did? It might mean copying everything to one library, only making at least 20,000 more duplicates! No clue what to do...

doesnt help too much when you have a huge file collection and itunes keeps duplicating them, ive got over 500 duplicates and i dont want to do it that way, does anyone know of any other ways?

Just make sure you don't delete both songs, otherwise its all gone... Which i think is still very silly of Apple since it still isnt there in iTunes 9
