The Scare Crow (or Scare Robin) - Initially I setup a few brightly colored kick balls on the window, which worked for about 20 minutes keeping the bird way from the window. But then it returned, ignoring the balls. So I setup more balls. That worked for 5 minutes. This bird is determined to break it's neck. Eventually I used a Large stuffed teddy bear and yelled a little to spook the dumb bird. So far so good. We'll see if it returns.

Update: Monday morning bright and early, it's back. Thud! Thud! Thud! This is getting ridiculous. I'm going to have to get creative. Either that or I'm getting the BB gun out.

  • Oh my goodness. I have a bird who flies into my bedroom window every morning at 6 AM as loud as possible. I've tried placing a poster over the window and signs and it still won't stop. Has anyone successfully warded off birds from doing this? It's starting to affect my sleep schedule.

  • American robins like this guy are attacking a 'rival' in his territory. I wonder if you can cover the window on the outside with something that might keep him from seeing his reflection.

  • I tried that. I had all kinds of stuff hanging from the window. The neighbors thought I was nuts. If the bird could see just a little bit of reflection, it would attack it. The problem was I couldn't get up high enough to cover the whole thing.

  • Stop putting more ballons there for it to chase after. >:[ poor thing. Needs bigger brain >:[ well at least its not as stupid as a dog.

  • It's not going after the balls. The ball scared it away long enough to get a little more sleep.

  • One time when I was in high school I saw a bird fly into the cafeteria window and break its neck. It sat dead in the courtyard for weeks.

  • have you tried streamers in front of the window? We do that for our city's Arboretum office windows.

  • Look up ( birdscare ) here on you tube .( Bird Scare Eye - NASA - 1994 ) worked for NASA. I use a rubber snake on my open carport to keep them out .. Good Luck All

  • Well then he must want a taste of your delicious brains. May God have mercy on your soul.

  • Dude just let it in ffs!!!It is putting some serious effort right there!!!!IT DESERVES THAT AFTER ALL THAT BEATING!!!:)))))))))))

  • Get the bb gun!! :D hahah

  • .22 ratshot?

  • I did hang a sheet over the window and he still does it. Now he also flies to our car window and pecks at that!

  • You need to remove the reflection in the window. Try hanging a sheet over the window from the outside.
