Make a pair of perfectly fitting leggings, custom made to your own measurements! A lot of tutorials suggest tracing the shape of a preexisting pair of leggings, but why do that when it's so easy to make a made-to-measure pair?

You will need:
About 1m of knitted cotton fabric
elastic (I recommend 1" wide waistband elastic)
thread

  • Question! What is that lovely color called?

  • @SarahJaneRobyn Blue.

  • So, if I wanted to make striped ones, (really wide stripes, not little ones.) would it work if I sewed strips of fabric into one giant sheet then then cut the tights from that?

  • @silversteampunk Yeah, it would definitely be easier to make or buy striped fabric and then cut it from that, vs cutting the pattern into stripes and piecing it together from that. The great thing about my pattern is that there's no side seam, so your stripes wont get messed up.

  • thanks for the tutorial ...but have y ever tried makin an manniquin usin yuh body size....u can check the threadbanger vid to show u how so u don't necessarily have to measure yuhself so stiff.....

  • @superjenif i got a dress making form for christmas, but it has yet to be delivered.

  • @KyleYankan Hmmm, that's going to be quite difficult, as my lighting is attached to the ceiling.

  • you have a great figure (jealous) and i love this tut!

  • @Evange I laughed so hard at this.

  • Hi, you look realy cute in leggings! I like it.

  • This is a really good tutorial, but I kind of wish we could see how the fabric was folded beforehand just cause it kind of makes a difference...

  • Damn that ass

  • this is such a great tutorial thankyou! i can see myself making way to many pairs of these! ta muchly from australia!

  • I'm having some trouble sketching my pattern. Unlike you, the fullest part of my hips is 3" below my waist, and my tummy is actually larger than my butt. How can work in the extra fabric I need to cover my tummy?

  • Thanks for this! I've been wanting this exact information. I KNEW leggings shouldn't be really difficult or require a paper pattern. Thanks so much for showing me how!!

I love wearing leggings under skirts. Now I can have as many as I want!

  • You are so sexy in both pants black and blue. Thats how leggings should fit a woman with real curves not 2 skinny twig legs
