@MaxTperson Thanks, I agree too, think what would be the earth like if there were no patents and we all cooperated :)

@erasmusso about 5k € per sunpulse was the estimation overheard last year. I agree much and whole heartedly with the concept of co-operation instead of competition, and I think that open source freeware technologies exemplify it. So here's one such freebie device for same tasks: solarfire(dot)org/Films (check the free blueprints part) Different solutions to different locations and conditions.

That Stirling engine shutting down at the end of this video pretty much sums up my emotional response to this video.

How much does it cost?

Depends on a lot of factors. Location, application etc. It's not
expensive. Contact solarvillage(AT)tamera.org for answers to
specific questions. Thank you for your interest!

So what is the time scale for producing such an engine and how widespread is it?

The SunPulse Water pump entered production in Indonesia this week.
That means the first model of the zero series is off the production
line. Initial test results are excellent. Now there's a cycle of
testing before the next series and ramping up production. The first
production models are all pre-booked. I guess at roughly end of the
year availability for SunPulse Water for new customers. Afterwards,
the SunPulse Electric.
