It is set in 1940 in British East Africa, right outside of Kenya. It tells the story of the wealthy, decadent British colonialists who wiled away the war indulging in all manner of depravity, and Sarah's role in the film was-IMHO-the only one with real charm and character. It was a supporting role, although for my money her role was far more interesting than that of the leading actress Greta Scacchi.
