  • stupid argies believing their juntas propaganda. Every major nations intelligence service was watching the falklands war - CIA,KGB etc and not one of them reported this event. Infact the only country that believes this happened are some deluded argies.

  • i dont think we should scrap em we sould refit them and uses them as helicopter carriers

  • Wouldn;t it be chaaper to plant missiles on the falklands.

  • @rampantlion123 The new fleet carrier was abandoned in the mid-60s as part of a plan to see all RN carriers scrapped. The Invincible class through-deck anti-submarine cruisers were the response. (It was vital that Treasury didn't realise they were Aircraft Carriers!!!) An unusual and compromised design, including a long cruiser-like island (look at it in profile) not offset fully to starboard, no squared-off flight deck forward and class named after a battlecruiser! But vital and versatile.

  • @MILLMANTV1 hmm ok

  • I echo the statements below. The Invincible class were not meant to be 'big' from the start. They are LIGHT carriers.

However, the Prince of Wales and Queen Elizabeth are much bigger, carrying over 40 aircraft. They also have automated weapon delivery meaning a machine carries the bombs/missles etc rather than having a team of men do the task. Now that is good!

  • Ive served on invincible these ships are bloody hard work for radar plotters , but they are worth every second . A true british icon

  • the invincible class carrier was never intended as an aircraft carrier but as a helicopter carrying support ship for a much larger carrier that was never built...the new carriers we are getting are Mahoosive and im looking forward to seeing them in service

  • im not aginst them, i didnt mean to type bitch in the other comment, its just i was playing with the new audio preview button as it was the first time i see it

  • ye prince of wales i meant lol, but hey it's not bad for a tight budget, half the british are against them for some reason???

  • dont know why people give me thumbs down. After all it is very small. bitch
