For years the Berliner Philharmoniker have been famous for their acclaimed concerts in Japan. In this live recording they perform under the direction of Mariss Jansons the violin concerto of Shostakovich (Hilary Hahn, violin), Dvorák's Symphony No. 8 and the Oberon-Overture by Carl Maria von Weber. Recorded live at the Suntory Hall, Tokyo, 26 November 2000.
