North Americans loves to depreciate Prius, but until now, no Americans made a single economic an little more green car, just V6, V8 monsters Gas Guzzlers... And so, the Prius is a city car, not a Sport! Why just ONE gear? There is no gear! Is CVT, improve much more power than the conventional Automatics.
Americans just don't like the idea thar the Japaneses makes cars better than them.

good point! It is interesting that Honda have launched a hybrid 6 speed manual transmission and shown it at the recent Tokyo Motor Show (the CX?? - I forget the name) (they call it a sports car) that will go into production next year. Finally, a manufacturer that recognises that manual transmission & hybrid is greener!! What I don't understand that is why they don't develop a double-clutch automatic with the gears lined up just like a manual, but without the clutch & a drive position too.
