  • Your recipes continue to grow ever more complex and creative. I'm amazed every time I see a posted video to witness what you accomplish for ten dollars. This is a really cool 'date' recipe, something with which to pull out all the stops and impress that guy or gal with your culinary pwnage.

  • Nope! Sorry, "ChefMelissa". A real chef does not buy pre-made coconut shrimp. PERIOD! Making them is very simple and easy, and the end result is far superior, especially if you use panko bread crumbs, and flambe them in a little coconut rum after you've fried them. It's not rocket science!

    The rest of your "cooking" isn't. All you did was boil water to cook some rice, cut up some fruit, and then plate it all. Any dope can do that!

    If you're a "chef", then I declare myself king of Scotland!

  • i made this for a date and i found it was better to prepare all the fruit salad in the papaya as a central dish separate from the shrimp and rice, or for desert, do you have any suggestions for aditional fruit? i dont care if it excedes $10

  • Too true... PLUS you can get/use different pepper that way. I LOVE gren and pink peppercorns. If you're looking to try something new, I say "GO GREEN"!

  • use whole peppercorns they are the best and produce a better flaver since its fresher than having the pre-grind stuff. if you go to the stores, they already have pepper corns in grinders already set up pre-packaged. so its easy and convienent.

  • what kind of pepper do you use? I need to find a good grinder
