This Newburgh-based collective of emcees, poets and musicians released an album titled Day Before Sound earlier in 2010. They approached Noisemaker Media to produce their music video campaign with the intent to create a visual piece that would highlight their eclectic sound. "Be Dif'Rent" sets a precedent for Director Mark Carranceja's work as he reinforces his catalog with a visual tour de force that introduces the Hip Hop world to the ReadNex Poetry Squad. To Be Dif'Rent is to uncover ones talents and passions. To Be Dif'Rent is to follow one's intuition rather than exterior conditions. To Be Dif'Rent means to embrace yourself for who you are and be comfortable within your own skin. Witness the evolution of the ReadNex Poetry Squad and understand what it means to Be Dif'Rent.

Even though people are entitled to their own opinions, some individuals have way too much time on their hands to be concerned with leaving such negative commentary about a music video. All criticism aside, the ReadNex Poetry Squad are decent folks who make decent music. Although they are not the first nor will they be the last do so, their attempts to educate the youth about Hip Hop culture is admirable.

I saw the Readnex at NACA Northwest and let me tell you... it just sounded horrible. I mean horrible, but that is mainly because the sound quality was lacking. The bass was amplified by the concrete room that we were in, thus they just sounded like (pardon my language) shit. However, I decided to give them a chance here and they're not shabby at all. I wish the repitition of "Being Different" was cut down and yet it seems they are trying to go to the roots of hip hop. Now that I can respect

I have had the opportunity and privilege to see Readnex in person and they are unbelievable and actually have a purpose. Oh just so you know, True Hip Hop is poetry, but if you listened to real Hip Hop, you would have known that.
