I've had the pleasure of meeting Amrit on more than one occasion. This soft-spoken gentleman is the real thing. You really do need to look past the string-whacking and body-slapping. I have seen him play more "radio-friendly" songs and they show that he is so much more than just good at making funny noises with a guitar. Although I hear Tom Morello is good at that too!
I think the title says it all. This kind of sonic "experimentation" has roots way back to John Cage, Lamonte Young etc etc. Whether it's "pretty" is clearly irrelevant. The artist clearly felt that he had something to say and he's saying it. That's a good thing. Listening to it with eyes shut makes for a different experience altogether. Sure it's disorienting and it's anything but "safe", maybe that's better than yet another version of "the water is wide" in DADGAD?
Can you not appreciate the courage it takes to play what is truly in your mind and heart with no compromise towards traditional concepts or cliches? Do you not realise that something that is truly original will sound alien?
...looks and smells like self-indulgent WANK to me.

This is fast becoming a modern classic. Creative, audacious and compelling.
