  • I've considered making a vid on my perspectives about Christianity, but I'm not sure I'm ready to deal with the flaming I'd get. I think it was the original Big Brother. The Bible writers were the elite of the time, sitting at a table deciding how to mold this new "faith". Using guilt and "sin" as motivational factors for behaviors they desired to see in the masses. It's dogma devoid of spirituality, and I think it has watered down human potential.

  • anastasia81472,

That is a great overview and exactly how I feel. That is why I choose not to live in fear of what is not known it is all really pointless to fear something unknown.

Have you seen the movie religiolus by Bill Maher It was great and showed how closed some if not all religions are. If you haven't seen it you should it was great.

Peace and thanks for you great comment!!

  • I don't think you are doing anything "wrong." Unfortunately many religionists see things in black and white because their doctrines stipulate it as such. "If you do this....you are wicked or sinful." "If you don't so this.....you cannot be saved." Its quite arrogant and judgemental, but Christians label as coming from love & wanting to save you. They will live in that denial until their last breath.

Doctrines very specifically dictate what you must do & not do and believe & not believe.

  • mconn2112,

Thank you for your comment. People just don't understand that I like the teachings of Buddha because it teaches you about yourself and not to hold things against others that is what I like. I don't pray to Buddha or any other deity. I like the meditation and the stress relief it has given me over the years. But I don't consider myself Buddhist. I am just spiritual. But I appreciate your comment and your views as I do smtty. I take it with a grain of salt.

    Peace my friend!!

  • mconn2112,

  • I was once like you I ran away from god but he chased me down the scriptures say he would never leave you or forsake you so I gave my life to Jesus Christ and let me tell you I never had peace like this in my life I challenge you to give your heart to him see if he wont open your eyes to the truth to you I hope you take the challenge

  • The problem is that we want to make god in are liking not who god is thats why there are so many believes you seem to be a smart girl think about it you except most of the teaching of Buddha but not all do you ever wander why because you are making your own god the way you want god to be but the fact of the matter is there is only one god and his word is the bible

  • The Christian that judged you of going to hell took the wrong approach you are right about the scriptures that says do not judge others but by following the teaching of Buddha is not going to take you to heaven you see god has laws just like the land that you live in has laws but gods laws are incorruptible because its the truth

  • that sounds nothing like the intolerant rhetoric of the hypocrites who keep me far away from church although i do read the gospels because thats the part of the bible where the teachings of Jesus are documented. sometimes with these hyper aggressive zealots i figure they must just have a big empty hole that goes right through them, and no amount of pain inflicted on others will fill that hole......i only know you through your videos but i think youre a wonderful, loving person. cya

  • haostrom, why are you wasting your time refuting the remarks of a man who doesnt even respect or understand the tennets of his own religious belief system. i, like you was raised catholic and understand only too well why you left the church. Jesus taught love, compassion, and forgiveness. he was once asked what the most important commandment was and he answered...."love your God with all your heart and all your strength and all your mind, and love youre neighbor as yourself.

  • I have seen that, yes. It was a good overview. I tend to follow the Pagan Earth cycle type spirituality. I was seriously involved with a Wiccan church at one time, and found it to be, well, just another church.
