  • 100 mistakes you made there

    1. u cant be that rough with her, u must try to tire her before catching her.

    2. dont have any rings, u can damage her skin

3.dont catch her EVER again like that when u have fry even if not u cant catch her like that

  • Thats ridiculous i have stripped fry from pleny of fish and have never harmed one! If anything it is beneficial to the mother who can now eat again after weeks of carrying babies around

  • thats perrty cool

    and are you spanish

  • are you stupid your using a que tip! you have to use your fingers and you cant shake the whole thing! and your being way to rough with her!!!

  • hey question? i just got like 25 yellow lab from this guy and a few of them have mouth full of frys and already took one of them out and got like 40 of them out of her but other one i try and the mouth is still full of egg sack and its not ready yet ,when do i know its time?

  • how do you know when to strip the fish? THANKS

  • By the way, I recently had a batch of 60 Hongi fry using the method I mentioned. I was away over Christmas for 4 days and returned to find fry hidden in the plant roots. The female had not eaten them, and around 50 of the fry made it through and are now rehomed.

  • Females are designed to be able to go without food for weeks, that's what nature intended. Don't underestimate the effect that severe trauma can have on fish - that includes keeping the fish out of the water for a prolonged period (by prolonged I'm talking more than 5 - 10 seconds). It's a known fact that stress worsens the fish's immune system too. It's unecessary - if you want to breed fish seriously then split the pair off into a breeding tank and remove the male after mating.
