I came looking/listening for Michael Ondaatje character hero- The Cat's Table. Awesome book- funny character claims to be former Bechet sideman. Awesome music

masterful rendition of a very difficult tune - this guy had talent !!

Definitely reminds me of a stumbling, fumbling feel, sort of put into a parody or satire. I don't know why, but it just fits so well with today's world.

That was a great song, so nice to have these recordings- and Bigfoot is real and something about UFOs and Govt conspiracy. Oooo spooky.

That was probably on a wood Albert system clarinet,judging from the warmth of the low notes. I don't think a score ever existed for this tune, he didn't read, it was improvised. His sax playing was like nothing you ever heard in your life!!

I'm so glad I found Sidney Bechet. As much as I love modern music, something about mid-1900s jazz is just so relaxing and soothing, and Bechet is a fantastic musician.
