Three years in the making, this cinéma-vérité feature from acclaimed filmmaker Joe Berlinger is the epic story of one of the largest and most controversial legal cases on the planet. An inside look at the infamous $27 billion Amazon Chernobyl case, CRUDE is a real-life high stakes legal drama set against a backdrop of the environmental movement, global politics, celebrity activism, human rights advocacy, the media, multinational corporate power, and rapidly-disappearing indigenous cultures. Presenting a complex situation from multiple viewpoints, the film subverts the conventions of advocacy filmmaking as it examines a complicated situation from all angles while bringing an important story of environmental peril and human suffering into focus.

What everyone here really needs is to SHUT UP and actually do something.

Stop talking about it and do it. Find a Biodiesel station, use veggie oil (its easy, i do it). Talk to your Mayor about these issues, email your senator, try to get a hold of the people in this film and films like FUEL, and Manufactured Landscapes, ask how you can help.

(if you need help making Biodiesel or learning about Veggie powered diesel please message me, its SUPER easy and inexpensive, i can show you)

Bio fuels or plant based fuels will not only produce oxygen but will absorb CO2. It's a no brainer in a sane world (the petrochemical reality we live in is clinically insane).

Bio fuels - fuels made from plants will dawn a new age.

Spewing crude oil all over the plant through CO2 emissions, chemicals and pharmaceuticals is like the planet defecating upon itself.

Henry Ford and other engineers believed that plant based fuels or bio fuels were superior to petroleum. Henry Ford made the first Ford motor vehicle from hemp plastic and hemp fuel.

@needarb...argentinian judicial system ruled Chevron have to pay 40% from annual revenues, starting nov/dic 2012. So for Chevron it was its end of the world. In money talk that means 240millions a year coming from Chevron Argentina, let's wait other countries follow Argentina's ruling.

@Eastsideweezy ok, then I dare you to go to that same place and drink, shower and eat from the same source the people down there get food and water. I am sure you will join the lawsuit. Don't just talk the talk, speak with facts.

systematic contamination plan...texaco would never do in USA what the did in Ecuador. Why in one country such a kind of abuses would just impossible to find and why in anothers belong to day after day..

No they didn't. This whole thing was a sham. The environmental reports were forged after the experts came to conclusions that showed that no contamination existed.

Oh and this movie and the lawsuit was funded by hedge funds trying to make "as much profit as possible" off shaking down Chevron.

So no the fantasy pollution does not speak for it's self.

I would save your time. This documentary was a sham put together by a law group and hedge funds in the hopes that they would be able to cash in on a trumped up lawsuit against Chevron. Almost every piece of evidence they put forward turned out to be a lie. They even got very poor people to sign as plaintiffs against Chevron by telling them they were signing up for free healthcare.
