Synopsis
Two new heads of department reveal how they are coping with their new roles, and what effect they are having on family life.

Andy Barnard, head of geography at St Peter's School in Gloucester, is summoned to the headteacher's office for a progress report following the end of pupil examinations.

Jo Polle, head of learning development at Waingel's College in Reading, is having a challenging time with her Year 10 class. She is an experienced manager from further education; her challenge is learning to cope in a school.
