If I had to cite one of the major musical influences on my as a teenager, Pretty Tony has to be in the top-5, maybe even number 1. He produced so many electro dance songs in the 80's, not only for himself, but for others as well. Without a doubt, my all-time favorite electro-funk song is "Fix It In the Mix." While I could not break dance, there were others who could and I remember them dancing to this song.

For me, the song took on other elements as well...sci-fi elements. You have the "robots" telling you to "roll on your side and spin on your back" (amongst other things). You have the blasting noises as well as some explosion noises. You have the monster-creature "roar" (for lack of a better term). As such, I imagined an impressive video for this song, complete with all those sci-fi elements with the heroes being a breakin' crew.

With that in mind, I decided I wanted to share my favorite old school song with you. I hope you enjoy it half as much as I do (if not more). Thank you Pretty Tony!

For those interested, the anime image is from the "School Rumble Sangakki" OVA series, which as of this posting, is unlicensed in the U.S. and still has a 2nd episode to be released in Japan. Those interested in anime should check out my anime and manga blog.
