  • Wow I hate to say it but this is a very poor example of how 42 should be preformed. movement is all wrong, U don't know how to use the form?? not traditional Chinese.

U would have a hard time fighting with this.

  • The only person here who doesnt know the form is YOU. Practice first, then make a coment. The movements are well done, and we know how to use them.

  • nice form, but i think the music is all wrong. it sounds more like a ceildh from the highlands!

  • thanks for your comment. But the music depends of the practitioner feeling. She prefeers the celthic irish music. Also the Tango would be right.

  • This is only Taijiquan. Our mother style is Chen. The form is a little "chenizated". With that form, ejecuted in the same way, we had won many tournaments, also a world champioship, with asiatic judges. I am an international judge too, and because this form is representative of the 5 principals families of Taiji, I only can to judge the structure and the cumpliment of the general rules. The interpretation will be always relationated with the "mother style" of the competitor's school.

  • I appreciate the uniqueness of your moves. but hmmmm...I think it's not appropriate to do those little sudden pauses or stops in between the execution of the movements when your doing the yang part...haha..idk if you get me...cause for me, yang is supposed to be flowy and continuous while chen is supposed to be hard and kinda stiff... and it includes those sudden pauses or stops that i'm talking about....

  • Sometimes, there are slight differences and occasionally big differences in a movement when you watch international competitions. But this, just doesn't even look like a Li Deyin or any other of teachers who founded the form from its very beginning. I would suggest seriously research on the standard 42 combined forms to start off. search for Chen Sitan, Gao Jiamin......

  • I don't know. I practice 42 Taijiquan and I know it's made up of Taiji from the 5 families. It would be weird if I did a Yang style move with Chen style feeling.

  • Es como si no dejarás fluir la energía, o me equivoco (¿?). Saludos=)

  • It is very nice to see your devoted interest in the art of Taiji but please, find a better teacher and change your moves to the original 42.

  • Hey, it's not letting me add the link.

Ah well, it's here on youtube if you want to take a look and make your own comparisons. It's entitled: 'Taiji forme mixte 42 movements'

    Happy training!

  • ps,

here is the link to see Gao Jiamin demonstrate the Taiji 42. It's the official competition demontration from Li Deyin's DVD. You can't get more authoritative than that. :)

  • Definitely more comfortable doing the Chen section and working with Chen style dynamics. I say this just because of the lack of Shen Fa in all of the other sections...and then, suddenly, the practitioner gets to the Chen movements and comes alive. Rooted, strong, supple, good Fa Jing and good Shen Fa. I wish my Chen was as good.
