I raced with soft turbo M3 e36 380KM and it was behind my M5.
Cause of film like this, rumors are alive.

The M5 had new MAF and one older MAF and at one side of the "V" new VANOS. At the time of this movie the M5 had slightly over 391hp at the crack after replacing the 2nd MAF the M5 had 399hp. Less than 8hp difference.
A good e36 can keep up with the e39 ///M5 but isn't faster.

@ErikT595 MAFs are responsible for higher revs and throttle raction, it is not easy calculation 8bhp menas nothing. Perhaps M5 has wrong somethin else. I don't kno what, but something is sucks.
Just take a look for catalogue data.
There is no any comparison to M3 e36!
This M5 is faster than M3e46, so why it is supposed to slower than previuous M3 ???
I advice - take care about your M5!
