Classic Game Room HD reviews SOLAR QUEST for Vectrex from 1982. This is one of the best "Asteroids" style games ever created. Fight off waves of alien ships with your A-Wing inspired space ship that rotates, shoots, nukes and hyperspaces. Awesome controls, frantic gameplay and arcade style make Solar Quest one of the catchiest video games on the Vectrex. This CGR review of Solar Quest on Vectrex has gameplay from Solar Quest showing Solar Quest game play on Vectrex in HD. • Lol. Only CGR can talk about a Vectrex game for over eight minutes...

  • Why is it that I was born in '92 and I want to play this more than my xbox 360?

  • When I first played this, I was amazed at how generous the initial lives count is compared to contemporaries.

Yeah, "saving" the enemies is awkward. "Capture" would have made much more sense.

    Nice blooper.

  • I was born in good ol' '80. and I totally missed this. I grew up with a lil' nintendo, my parents thought video games would rot your brain, and was pretty much raised on Genesis. But I remember my brother, vintage 1974, with a C64. and I was so jealous of his friends copying games and taking them back to the store to get their money back. I remember Ultima IV blowing my mind. thanks CGR for taking me down memory ln. on every video.

  • this game could work with double-analog sticks ;O

  • @Leeroy2304 COLOUR!

  • @WumboWarrior Hey sorry for replying to such an old comment, but I was born in '94* and I was playing Mappy a while ago lol

I'm just oldschool like that. Hell I don't know why, but the games back then were so much better to me. You see during my childhood I used to live in a very poor town. There, all the kids (including me) had old toys and games, mainly because our parents couldn't afford any new stuff so they would just give us what was theirs. That's why I love games that are older than me.

  • Considering the amounts of money gaming companies put into their graphics... when all you need is some plastic film you put on your screen, to give vectors colour.

    Awesome concept.

  • @RareSportsFootage Pittsburgh

  • Wow damn good sound effects. :D

  • Just curious: are you from Philly?
