@TheLwebber69 in that case Stephen Hendry has won more titles than Ronnie, and he is haled as the greatest by Ronnie, and by Davis, and by White, and by most of the snooker players who still live, and is cited as one of Ronnie's "hero's" so does that make him automatically better? by your reasoning i suppose it does, Alex on his best day could beat Ronnie on his best day.
-
@martmcphly oh ritethankf for clearing that up.. i just assumed that as rinnie has won more titles and is haled by steve davis and stephen hendry as the greatest player to ever play the game, that he is better than higgins. but no your right higgins is better as you can tell by his amazing cue all control in this video (y)
-
@smtoke 1. don't call me friend if your gonna then call me stupid. 2. you just admitted he won titles when the standard wasn't as good as it is now, which was my original point. 3.now can people stop writing to me you fucking morons.
-
@TheLwebber69 alex was far from shit my stupid friend,he won the world championship on his first try even paying money to enter it, the standard now is very much higher!! alex was a top player in his day!
-
@Paggee Higgins had the vibe,,,,he was like Hendrix...raw and original and something of a gadfly to the Davis school. You might as well compare Hendrix to Julian Bream if you bring up O Sullivan
-
@TheLwebber69 alex made a centuary in 2 minutes, ronnie could never do that, higgins is much better than o'sullivan, history will remember higgins more because he was an underdog, and everyone loves them.
-
@martmcphly alex was shit. only won a few titles because of the poor standard. dont EVER compare him to king o'sullivan
-
@MrWhosurdaddy09 How do you know! LOL
-
@DLPBurke yes but ronnie could not get drunk and play like alex
-
That stun shot was pure genius
-
@DLPBurke ronnie is amazing, on a good day he can't be taken off the table, thats why he's so good, and i think he is the best overall player, safety, pot success, position play and safety, all great, but even though alex plays with such poor technique, he still managed to win matches and pull off great shots, i think its harder to be great with bad technique, than be great with flawless technique.
-
@martmcphly Look I am not saying Alex wasn't talented but you cannot begin to compare him to O'Sullivan. It is much harder to play snooker keeping position than it is to lose it. O'Sullivan doesn't play great snooker, at times he plays FLAWLESS snooker. That is why most people place his natural talent above Alex's. Now in terms of ENTERTAINMENT, I would place Alex and White ahead of Ronnie.
-
@DLPBurke well in that respect no one cold clear the table in 2 minutes 55 seconds like alex did, the only problem alex had was consistancy, at his best he could hang with the best of them, ronnie as i said is a machine, for him its easy, his stance is great, his cueing is great, everything, but alex si twitchy, always moving and his cue bobs up and down, but at that last second something magic happens, and its all in place, if alex didn't twitch like he did, or bob his cue, he would be great
-
@martmcphly Not really, since statistically O'Sullivan is ahead of Hendry in break building by averages, and for sure, cueball control and genius. Alex did have bags of talent but to compare him to O'Sullivan is ridiculous. No player could make that 5 min 20 147 that Ronnie did other than Ronnie.
-
@DLPBurke well by that logic stephen hendry is better than o'sullivan, and john higgins is better than o'sullivan, and aparently, joe davis is the greatest player ever to pick up a cue since he has never lost at snooker.
-
@martmcphly It does not mean he is more consistent, it means he is BETTER.
-
@DLPBurke no, that means ronnie is more consistant, alex although making all those mistakes, and making rookie errors in his cueing and standing, still played great snooker, you have to be awfully talented to be able to win 2 championships with his cueing and his twitching.
-
@DLPBurke to me, alex is more naturally talented because of his bad technique, even though his head bobs up and down, and the cue goes up and down, at that last second everything comes together fo a great pot, and to me, ronnie is very good, a machine, but alex is human, you never know what you're going to get, but with ronnie, when he's on the table, you know if he's going to win that frame or not, i can't remember a shock win from ronnie, but alex can come from behind for very exciting wins :)
-
Alex had a lot of natural talent but not as much as Ronnie... the amount of times Alex loses control of the cueball is the telling factor.

youre a fat cunt anti fanboy. the only vagina youve seen is your mums and thats only if youve been a good boy. by a good boy i mean wanking over shots that o'sullivan misses. you instantly cum your pants like some strange, jealous maniac. If u dont cum over that then your mum finishes you off while you suck your dads cock
-
well played, but not that impressive...
-
That man could pot a ball up the ass of a fly. Strange cueing action, but the balls are going down.
Amazing stun shot at the beginning!

why did we like him? cos he was human, unreservedly human and I'd watch his 'poor technique' all day long over 98% of todays dull but consistant offerings
