Ahhh right I see - only asked cos its fairly obvious compared to some of the other gymnasts who did have ballet training.......life in Uzbekistan sounds far from easy! thx

She had just turned age eligible for senior competition when the USSR broke up and trained in Uzbekistan after that. In Uzbekistan she didn't get the ballet that she would have if she was still a USSR gymnast. Uzbekistan is so poor that they barely have enough equipment for the gymnasts to train let alone pay for ballet lessons too.

Thx for that.....any ideas why Oksana was such a brilliant tumbler YET has poor dance skills?? I say this because there arent many former soviet gymnasts who cant dance.....but shes prob one - shes very 'rigid' in her dance movements...........

@garyj79 It would be considered a double straight because her legs were bent backwards and her hips weren't bent. She would get a deduction for the legs but it would only be a .1 or .3 if the judges were having a bad day.

question to someone knowledgable in gymnastics....do they deduct for bent knees on a double str8 cos those knees were VERY bent!!!!! you cant really call that a double str8 in my opinion........
