I just learned how to needle tat a couple weeks ago. This is good in case I lose my momentum, come back to it later and need a refresher.

The demonstration was good, but unfortunately it was very fast for me to get about it. Could u slow it down a bit so that, i could get a note of it as to how to go about it, especially after the ring, it is a bit difficult as to how ur pulling the loop.

Yes, I'm working off the ball. There are two ways to needle tat, you can also mimic one shuttle tatting my working from the end of a cut thread. Try the book Learn Needle tatting by Barbara Foster for a really clear explanation of both methods.

So is the thread you are working on coming from a ball of thread? I am just trying to learn ho to do this but all the instructions I have found don't explain how to work off of a ball of thread.

Thank You,
Lorna

The thread to make the loops is from the needle end and the ball thread is for the chains. It took me a while to figure it out but once I did there was no turning back!

Do you have any idea how long I fooled around trying to make this, and how much thread I wasted? You make this look so easy. I'm finally getting the hang of this.
