Mendelssohn Sinfonia No. 10, Adagio

Performance on Nov. 9, 08, at Powell Symphony Hall Saint Louis. Conducter is Ward Stare, a very young and very talented artist. This is the first time he is conduction our Youth Symphony, and what a great job they did together! Bravo and encore!

mattattack, let me just say this: first of all, you'd had to have been there in person to be able to really apreciate it. Does it not occur to you that a small Kodak video cam cannot do such a performance justice? Have you ever been to a concert hall and noticed how many microphones they hang over the orchestra to record a session? You are being unfair, and, it seems to me, a tad jealous!

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU ON THAT ONE MELLOCELLO. i PLAYED THIS MY SENIOR YEAR IN HONOUR'S ORCHESTRA. I MISS THIS PIECE SO MUCH THE PART FOR TWO VIOLAS INSTEAD OF ONE WAS JUST AMAZING

Gosh...I miss playing in this orchestra sometimes :( You never truly forget your youth orchestra experience...Saturdays are never the same when you don't have rehearsal to attend.

I am in St. Louis children's choir and Ward Stare is going to be conducting us on the 18 and 19 when we sing the christmas concert with the symphony!!!!!!! He is great!

i agree with mattattack in a way.

i do believe that the camera doesn't complete give us the whole effect. we miss out on most of the phrasing and such.

but i do believe that it could have been more polished. i know that the viola parts are extremely difficult. but they have a huge part. and i think they had a few intonation problems

my personal opinion is that they had a few dynamic contrasts, nothing that really intrigued me except for one or two places.

it's okay in my opinion.

I also played this last night under Ryan Kho and enjoyed it immensley. He's so powerful as a conductor, and it was so fun playing this!

you guys did well. starting at 5:12 there was a few pitch problems for a few seconds. I think it was in the violas. Other than that, it was really good. we performed this last night actually. under the baton of Ryan Kho. the concertmaster of the Augusta Symphony. It was so much fun. This is one of my favorite pieces.
