@guitarmark035 the fourth in the b major scale is E. he was asking about modes, not majors/minors

@mattman937 the fourth not is not B it is A. U would go down a minor 3 to play a major over a minor and just vice verca

@BDagys im playing the B major scale over the E. Its because E is the fourth note in the B major scale. with modes take the key you want, in this case, E, and then find out which note it is in all the scales that have the root note. The scale with E as its fourth note is B major/D sharp minor. Lydian is a major sounding mode, so it works with this backing track. I hope this makes sense lol, im not always good at explaining things.

Would you use an E Lydian scale over this or an A Lydian (because 4th note of E major scale)?
