Anne Boleyn is known for her scandalous relationship with Henry VIII, and because she lost her head. There have been many interpretations of her life, on the page and screen, and many have been riddled with the bias superstition that arose following her death. Anne was a deeply religious, dedicated person, who defied convention and who supported a radical and dangerous belief. Her existence created the most shocking decisions that would change the course of History forever.

Great work! You managed to strike the balance between Gregory's sensationalism*, Denny's attempted canonisation, and Weir's vilification to paint a relatively unbiased portrait of Anne- and as such, probably a more accurate one.

*Not to put her in the same league as historians. IMO, she's barely worthy of being called an author.

Cheers very much! Yeah im not a big fan of Gregory or Weir to be honest - they seem to have some really serious issues with Anne! Denny portrays a similarly bias Anne, and makes her into perfection, whereas I like to see her from every angle - good and bad. That is what makes her human. Glad u liked! :)

What a wonderful review of Anne's true piety. It is amazing to see a piece of work which truly reflects the reality of Anne's story, rather than the fictional accounts associated with her today. The narration was beautiful and well done! I truly felt as if I was watching a television special. Truly well done.

THANK YOU!!! I've been so concerned that the boddice ripping dreck of Gregory and her ilk and the hagiography of Denny was going to distort Anne's story beyond recongition. But your videos are well scripted, beautifully illustrated, and absolutely spot on in their analysis - balanced and insightful.

Finally we see a visual expression of Ives's interpretatation of Anne as a woman of profound religious conviction. Please tackle her role as a Renaissance art patron as well.

Anne was neither a saint or a devil, she was a human being like everyone else with virtues and faults. That's probably why I admire her so much and tend to dislike writers who usually only see her faults. She was a modern woman in her own time, I bet if she lived in the 21st century she would have fit right in

The Bible is the book of the Catholic Church and only this Church has a divine gift to interpret infallible.

The Protestant churches have no such gift. it is so obvious and visible. So many Protestant churches and each claims its interpretation is right. Is Holy Spirit divided?

Why protestant people are so blind and do not see contradiction. There is contradiction even in their church names, for example Lutheran, Anglican and etc. Did Christ establish Lutheran or Anglican church?

Je suis peu connaisseuse de l'histoire anglaise par rapport à l'histoire de France (de Clovis à louis XVI), cependant,une reine (femme de Henri VI), a attiré mon attention: Marquerite d'anjou je crois. @tigranvartanovitch En histoire, le plus interessant c'est la controverse qui peut y avoir sur tel ou tel evenement...L'histoire s'appuie sur des faits (lettres, gravures, fresques..), mais au delà de cela, il faut une connaissance sur la nature humaine, voire un minimum de psychologie. Et moi, j'aime reflechir sur l'histoire en me disant: Pourquoi telle personne at'il agit ainsi?Une chose est sure: C'est encore une femme (Aliénor), qui fut à l'origine de cette mésentante Franco-anglaise ha! ha!

Je savais tous cela...concernant Edouard IV et le jeune prince Edouard V disparu avec son frère à la tour...Idem sur Alienor. Cependant, concernant l'Aquitaine (êtes vous sûre qu'ils ont rajouté la fleur de lys quand Alienor a épousé le future roi anglais? Il me semblait que ce fut durant la guerre de 100 ans que la fleur a été rajouté....Je vous souhaite un bon noël!

@verobinful La raison est que l'Angleterre a possédé Aquitaine. Aquitaine est devenu anglais avec le mariage de Henry II et d'Eleanor d'Aquitaine. Les rois anglais ont combattu pour garder Aquitaine et pour gagner la nouvelle terre. Une partie de l'armée anglaise en la guerre de 100 ans était française des terres anglais. Les arbalétriers anglais étaient Gasconais.

@verobinful Le mariage d'Edward IV est censé avoir été bigame. Il pourrait être vrai, ou ce pourrait être une invention. (Edouard V était un roi de garçon.) L'épouse No. 1 et le prêtre étaient morts. L'histoire est venue de Bishop Stillington. Après la mort de Richard III, la royaume a passé à les de la Poles, pas les Tudors.
