@WDI2008 . And what other presidents made a personal pitch for the Olympics for the 1904, 1932, 1988 and 1996 summer game bids? Or the 1932,1960,1980 and 2002 winter game bids? What other presidents made pitches for the other failed bids of US cities in between?
Obama made the pitch for a grand personal/selfish reason, it was his hometown and saw himself declaring open the "Games of Chicago" in the final year of his presidency.
Sorry Obama, Chicago is not going to happen nor a 2nd term.

@WDI2008 sorry, but that last statement is not true. Atlanta did not pitch for the Olympics in a "what the hell, lets just try it anyway" attitude. The organizers and the people of the city and state really wanted these games just as much as the people of Chicago wanted to host the games. If Atlanta was "glad to make the final pitch," I like to hear what backs up that statement.

@YampoGA True but George Bush didnt make the trip to Tokyo personally to make the pitch for Atlanta.Furthermore the Atlanta bid could have cared less if they won or lost because it would have been 12 years since the Olympics where held in the US.Atlanta was just glad they made the final pitch.

Why is our president over in Denmark lobbying for Olympics when he should be in America dealing with our economy and all the other problems that need solved. His priorities are completely backwards. I can't wait until we can vote him out of office in 2012.
