who ever played final fantasy or fran someplace i ask you. . .if you seen a sexy vierra like THAT! hoppin down the bunny trail wouldnt you play like peter cottontail? and if you cant answer that! i mean c'mon! Balthier was a SKY PIRATE an so is she an you they had to have gotten scurvy on the deck and even though this comment contains figments of fan fiction it is completely plausible

I believe that Fran and Balthier spend the rest of their lives together, still not really understanding their connection with each other but knowing thats it's more than friends... they live together and they are happy... they might not be madly in love with each other but they do love each other.

this is my take on the Fran, Balthier, and Ashe situation.
Balthier and Fran have been friends for a long time. they love each other but not in the way some people want them to.
Ashe still loves her dead husband. that will not change.
Balthier might have loved Ashe, but knew that he couldn't really act of his feelings.
Ashe at the same time i think she felt feeling for Balthier, but they scared her and she refused to acknowledge that it was love. Both could have been together but it wouldnt work
