Billy was I'm sure influencial in Hank Garland's playing. They were tight in the 50's.
I just saw the movie "Crazy" which was the Hank Garland story and Billy Byrd could have been as legendary and probably greater than Hank if he had not resorted to drinking.
Fascinating - not just this track but your image of the LP. One of my treasured possessions bought when I was a young lad just starting to play guitar, is an imported Stateside mono LP called 'Tennessee Guitar featuring Hardrock Gunter, Billy Byrd, Jimmy Capps, Eddie Eddings, Arthur Smith and Tommy Hill. I suspect that our LP's must be the same or very similar. Many of your uploads match those on my LP which, I'm glad to say, is free of those annoying clicks you so often get on early vinyls.

I used to have that LP. My folks moved when I was in Nam and no more LP.
