Who wrote the koran? I am trying to be a muslim but am confused. is Mohammed's name on it with his signature or allah's name? Whose name is on this holy book? Deedat my hero says that King james bible belongs to England not God and I accept that what about Koran... whose name is on this beautiful literature? To be a good and honest muslim do I accept the koran as ultimate revelation from direct from Allah?

to solosinger:we do believe that kora'n has all Allah's words,it is not written by Mohammad,rather brought to him by angel Gabriel,and Kora'n has no human words,neither has any missing word from Allah.Allah says in what it means in Kora'n:we brought it and we will be protecting it...

finally: so we say Allah has always kind of challenged the people of his prophets,and showed them that they were always weaker than his will.. and they could never bring what his prophets came with..i just dropped to u simple reasons,but Allah knows,by his wisdom, there could be other reasons...we could investigate that more later on :-) peace

with a similar logic we talk about the Christ as well. with Mohammad it is the same,arabs were so eloquent and had many great poets and brought Quraan in arabic,and it showed then that with all their capabilities they were not able to make a single line that is wiser or more eloquent than what in Quraan.

continue:Moses brought the miracle of making the wooden stick to be a snake that wiped out what other magicians have done.simply because they were well good about magic,so Allah sent his prophet and showed them that their magic was weaker than Allah's will.

continue,to solosinger: and about asking why in arabic:forgetting about arabic language was of the most powerful languages and so eloquent,some one could simply see,that Allah has sent lets say Noah to his people and he built the ship when the flood came,a ship because his people were good being carpenters,but they were nt able to make what Noah did.

to solosinger:about the name thing,because (islam wise) we believe it is from Allah,so no need to print something like we do with usual books, as author:god or Allah... i mean its,to us not doubted. but if u r referring to a publisher,ya any publisher might have printed those words,or a translator can put his name as the translator,so as others would understand whats written there.

Peace be with you. i take your point but the koran has so many different names on it okay translation although a lot differs from each other but why not Allah name on the book to show distinction and final truth? Why did al the translators had the need to translate what is suppose to be in Arabic I am confused
