There never have been stress cards in the USMC and it has never been nor should it be co-ed, he just says men and women train together. Trust me he knows women are only trained in Parris Island. Even though he was Hollywood There was a Navy boot camp in San Diego in 1987 when Tim went. He was in 3rd. Batt., Kilo Co., Plt 3017.
And yes, this is meant to be a joke, a funny recreation of what he saw then and since.

The Corps never had stress cards, ever. If some recruit ever tried to claim stress, all that would do was create more stress for him/her. "Bends and thrusts, until you DIE. Begin."
