Following the kind donation of a truck by Iveco, Gary Forster, Transaid's CEO, and Victor Simfukwe, Transaid's Project Manager for Southern Africa, explain the importance of the Professional Driver Training Project. This scheme is helping to increase the level of skills of professional drivers in Zambia and Tanzania, helping to increase road safety. 1.3 million people are killed each year in road crashes, 90% in developing countries. This truck donated by Iveco will give the National Institute of Transport the capacity to give training to truck drivers, helping to reduce this figure.
