Spirit of Entrepreneurship Celebrating Herb Kelleher

On April 20, 2011, more than 250 North Texas business and community leaders gathered for the 10th annual Spirit of Entrepreneurship celebration, where Herb Kelleher, co-founder and chairman emeritus of Southwest Airlines, was inducted into their "Ring of Entrepreneurs." The invitation-only event, this year entitled "LUV Your Company, LUV Your Community," was hosted by the Entrepreneurs For North Texas (EFNT), a fund of Communities Foundation of Texas that facilitates community involvement and philanthropy for small and mid-size companies. Mr. Kelleher was introduced by Ray Hunt and then participated in a Q & A session moderated by Patrick Brandt, CEO of Telligent. Also during the event, the North Star Award, given to individuals who have set a "shining example" for their leadership in community involvement, was presented to Sunny Morris, president of CORE24, and to Global 360. Both have contributed countless volunteer hours and resources to many local charitable organizations, as well as proven that relentless and generous leadership can make North Texas a better place to live and work.
