i built this system mainly because i do a lot of work in the field and was getting tired of lugging around the larger StickHarp, which although fun and easy to play, is slightly unwieldy by comparison. i was worried that the StickHarp Mini would be difficult to play because of the tighter light string spacing, but fortunately it's easily manageable by simply using a different playing technique. more ideas in the works... and more light harps on the way! ;?)

it's just a square wave at the moment unfortunately. the real magic happens when you plug in the MIDI. i should probably just use MIDI in all the vids from now on so people get the big picture.
i've thought about sculpting the square wave into a sinusoidal wave using a smoothing cap or something, but the main problem would still remain, which is that the audio needs to be polyphonic. i know there are a lot of monophonic synths out there, but these harps need to be able to play chords! -p
