The question of ethics arises at different stages during the process of doing business research. Ethical issues are central to the actual integrity of the research being conducted. This vodcast lecture will illustrate some high profile cases where ethical questions have become central to the research being conducted. Ethical dilemmas tend to arise in relation to different matters such as how the research is conducted or whether it is right to deceive those participating in the investigation. The main ethical dilemma to be considered in this session concerns the relationship between researchers and participants during the course of an investigation. There are different positions on the ethics covering how researchers should relate to research participants. As well as the relationship between investigators and investigated, there is the ethical matter of the research findings. Not all research findings are ethically contentious but you find some research projects that hold significant ethical implications. We will consider some of these by way of actual examples.
