Cathy Camper, a local Portland artist, makes interpretive portraits and images of nature from seeds. Her art pieces sparkle with color, and imagination; in a sense, they pay homage to the beauty and simplicity that abounds in nature. Food is more than for eating, in this story, it becomes the source material for artistic expression.

  • i wonder if the seeds ever germinate

  • can't imagine they ever would, kiravintio. they still need soil and/or water to get going. I can only imagine the seeds might start sprouting if the artwork was immersed in water - that is if it was during the life of the seed (up to 2 years for some, as I understand it). And what a mess that would be!
