I coach most of them for power jumping and their style is somewhat different to yours. Still, I think you need to compact your jump somewhat. Try short run ups, length of curve plus two walk in steps. The walk in is to make your first step consistent in length ( this is also important in LJ). Short run up forces you to go straight up giving you a much more compact jump. James, my 16 year old boy does 1.90m with his short 5 step run.
